form of magic is known and practiced at the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Prophets that were sent
by God during the course of human history always had enemies. These enemies tried to destroy the
Prophets and from time to time they were successful. According to the Qur’anic statements, some of
the previous nations killed the Prophets sent to them and for that reason deserved damnation. The
Prophet Muhammad similarly had many enemies from among the idolaters, hypocrites and members
of other religions and his life was under constant threat and he was forced to emigrate to Medina.
Those enemies who tried to get rid of him by every means possible might have had recourse to magic
as well. According to traditions, magic had been worked on the Prophet, who was effected by it for a
while and then was saved through the guidance of God. The reports telling that the Prophet was
bewitched was subjected to objections and criticisms. Some scholars argued that if one accepts that
the Prophet was effected by magic then his mission as a prophet will be imperilled and the idea of
the protectedness of revelation will be harmed. This study first deals with the above-mentioned hadith
in terms of hadith methodology and then discusses the objections and criticisms directed against it
as an example of the conflict zones between reality and ideology.

預言者ムハンマドの時代には、ある種の魔術が知られ、実践されていました。人類の歴史の中で神によって遣わされた預言者には常に敵がいました。これらの敵は預言者を殺そうとし、時には成功しました。コーランの記述によると、以前の民族の中には、自分たちに遣わされた預言者を殺した者もおり、そのために彼らは天罰に値しました。預言者ムハンマドにも同様に偶像崇拝者、偽善者、他宗教の信者など多くの敵がおり、彼の命は常に脅かされていたため、メディナへの移住を余儀なくされました。あらゆる手段を使って彼を排除しようとした敵も、魔術に頼った可能性があります。伝承によれば、預言者は魔術にかけられ、しばらくの間その影響を受けた後、神の導きによって救われたとされています。預言者が魔術にかけられたという報告は、異論や批判の対象となりました。一部の学者は、預言者が魔術にかけられたという事実を受け入れると、預言者としての使命が危うくなり、啓示の保護という理念が損なわれると主張しました。本研究では、まず上記のハディースをハディースの方法論の観点から考察し、次にそれに対する異論や批判を、現実とイデオロギーの対立領域の例として考察します。キーワード:預言者ムハンマド、魔術、物語、イデオロギー、現実
